Chemical attack and corrosion resistance of concrete prepared with electrolyzed water

This work investigates the sulfate and chloride resistance of cement composites (mortar concrete) manufactured using electrolyzed water. Control water-based were prepared distilled water 30 min water, respectively. These exposed to 5% Na2SO4, 3.5% NaCl, a combined mixture Na2SO4 NaCl solution for 200 days. Additionally, rebar reinforced control samples ambient air 180 days, their corrosion potential was monitored. For specimens, results show compressive strength losses 5, 12.4, 6.1% when above solutions, respectively, whilst reduced 1, 10.1, 3.4%, Statistical analysis values from accelerated tests also (58 mV less negative potential) in embedded specimen (−548 at days) than (−606 mV). Based on spectral microstructural analysis, enhanced durability performance specimens is attributed lower ingress deleterious agents through porous compact microstructure hardened composites.
